The typical goals of a manager in an organization is to maximize work quality with minimum resources, while assuring the on time completion of work. In order to ease the work of higher level management in an organization, we developed an user friendly web based tool where a manager can select appropriate options as per his needs to make most appropriate decision in least time.
What we did?
The decision that our approach took to maximize work quality with minimum resources was to allocate the tender
to the most suitable contractor and form a supervisory team for
cyclic quality checking. The past data that
we collected for such process was the bid amount, duration, quality and scale of work for all the contractors. The decision
for on time completion of work was based on charging some
compensation from a contractor for work that was overdue and to
introduce a grading system as per timely completion of work. The data that we collected for performing this decision was
duration, environment situation, scale of work and contractor past record.
We designed and implemented OLTPs for various road projects by resolving all the anomalies (update,
insert and deletion) using normalization
concepts. An ETL tool to perform the operations of data extraction,
transformation and loading was developed by eliminating all the integration problems. A query tool using
applets and JSP was implemented as a Front End, servlets in the business logic and Oracle 8i as backend
utilizing MVC-2 architecture on J2EE platform.
