Who AM I?
I am Prakash Gupta and I belong to the holy city "Varanasi", Uttar Pradesh, India. I spent most part of my life in a small town Vindhyanagar, where I did my primary schooling at Delhi Public School. I did my higher secondary education from SSSHSS, Anantpur. After that I went to pursue my under grad studies at JIIT (Deemed University), India. Later I joined Infosys Technologies Ltd. as a Software Engineer and worked in communications domain for about an year. At present I am pursuing my MS in the Dept. of Computer Science at USC Viterbi School of Engineering.
Passionate About
My first passion was Physics, when I was introduced to the wide range of topics in my 9th standard. Optics
being my favorite but unfortunately least weightage in exams. During my higher secondary education, I was very fortunate
to be taught by some of the finest teachers and it was during this tenure that I developed my interest in computing
and chemistry. Unfortunately or fortunately I landed doing my under grad in Computer Science.
I have a great passion for programming. Apart from my interest in computing fields: Computer Networks,
Software Architectures and Distributed Systems, I still have inclination towards Physics. Quantum Information Theory is one
such topic that excites me the most.
I am an avid reader of biographies of researchers like Feynman, Bose, Dirac, Turing, Einstein, Chandrashekhar,
Raman etc. I enjoy reading the splendid way they discovered the unquestionable theories.
My Mentors
During my under grad, I was blessed to be taught by one of the finest Professors in the world, who are maestros in
their field (Prof. Bani Singh, Prof. K.C. Mathur, Prof. Naveen Prakash to name few) but unfortunate to do
any research work under them.
However my interest in Physics pulled my attraction towards "Quantum Information Theory" elective, which most of
the students did not opt, as it was not a "job-oriented" course.
